On April 3, the campus competition of the 2026 China University Business Elite Challenge in International Trade – University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) Campus Competition was held at USST Business School. The event was co-organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Commercial Sub-council and USST Business School. This year, six teams comprising over 40 students from the Business School, the College of Foreign Languages, and the College of Communication and Art Design participated in the competition. He Wen, Branch Secretary of International Trade under the Department of Finance and International Economics & Trade, Yang Le, the competition’s main organizer, along with faculty members Han Bing, Wang Xiaoyin, Lai Hongbo, Li Lixia, and senior advisor Tang Qiao, attended the event and served as judges. The competition was hosted by Gao Jiangnan from the ITC International Trade Club.
The competition consisted of four components: business plan writing, electronic booth design, presentation and defense, and a product launch conference. The latter two were conducted through on-site evaluation. During the presentation and defense session, team members introduced their exhibits, target markets, competitors, exhibition strategies, and financial planning. Judges raised questions based on the presentations, and the interaction helped deepen students’ understanding of business plans, international trade practices, and global markets.

Business Plan Presentations and Defense by Participating Teams
The second part of the on-site competition was an English-language product launch, with each team given eight minutes to present. Teams showcased their products through various formats, highlighting features, key selling points, and application scenarios. The students’ fluent English, creative videos, enthusiastic hosting, and engaging stage designs demonstrated their dedication and passion, leaving a strong impression on the judges. After the product launch performances, the judges provided feedback on each team’s performance.

Product Launch by Participating Teams
The products selected by the teams reflected current export trends in China’s foreign trade, including electronics, smart skincare products, and daily consumer goods, all of which are highly competitive in international markets. The judges offered targeted guidance, emphasizing the importance of understanding the purpose of product launches, focusing on product characteristics, and choosing appropriate presentation formats. In the concluding remarks, Yang Le commended the students for their diligent preparation, encouraged innovation, and expressed hope that the five selected teams would achieve even better results in the municipal and national competitions.
