[Subsequently, Prof. Zhang Wenjun delivered a special introduction to the aims, academic positioning, and scope of submissions of AGI and Applications. He noted that artificial general intelligence represents an important frontier in the current development of artificial intelligence. Related research not only involves fundamental issues such as algorithmic models, intelligent systems, and cognitive mechanisms, but is also closely connected with application scenarios including complex systems, intelligent manufacturing, smart emergency management, robotic systems, and management decision-making. AGI and Applications will focus on the theoretical foundations, system architectures, methodological innovations, and practical applications of artificial general intelligence. The journal encourages high-quality research that is scientific, innovative, transparent, and reproducible, with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary exchange and international cooperation in the field of artificial general intelligence.

Speech by Zhang Wenjun
On behalf of the USST Business School, Prof. Zhao Laijun extended a warm welcome to Academician Zhang Wenjun, the participating experts and scholars, and the OAE Publishing team. He also congratulated the official launch of AGI and Applications. He noted that the School attaches great importance to the interdisciplinary integration of artificial intelligence with system science, management science and engineering, emergency management, systems engineering, industrial engineering, and related fields. The School is responsible for the development of the university’s undergraduate program in Artificial Intelligence. Since its first student intake in 2020, the program has gradually established a relatively complete talent cultivation system and will welcome its third cohort of graduates this year. In 2024, the School launched a postgraduate micro-major in Artificial Intelligence, and in 2026 it began enrolling students in the professional master’s program in Artificial Intelligence, gradually forming an integrated and interdisciplinary talent cultivation framework from undergraduate to postgraduate education. With artificial intelligence algorithms as the foundation and large model technology as the core, the School is developing its distinctive strength in “Artificial Intelligence + Systems Management.” It is committed to cultivating interdisciplinary talents who understand algorithms, are familiar with models, and are capable of practical application. Prof. Zhao stated that the launch of the new journal is highly aligned with the School’s ongoing efforts in artificial intelligence talent cultivation, interdisciplinary development, and international academic cooperation. As a member of the journal’s editorial board, he felt a strong sense of responsibility and honor. Going forward, he will actively support the development of the journal. Drawing on the School’s research foundation in artificial intelligence, system science, management science and engineering, emergency management, and related areas, he will help promote the exchange and dissemination of more high-quality academic achievements through the journal, and contribute to building AGI and Applications into a high-level academic platform with distinctive characteristics and international influence. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to Academician Zhang Wenjun for his long-standing support for the development of artificial intelligence-related disciplines at the School. Academician Zhang has been invited to the university on several occasions for academic exchanges and has delivered special lectures on frontier topics such as the resilience of robotic systems, embodied artificial intelligence and artificial general intelligence, and intelligent emergency management for complex systems. These lectures have provided important inspiration for the Business School in advancing the interdisciplinary integration of “Artificial Intelligence + Systems Management.”

Speech by Zhao Laijun
In their remarks, Prof. Jiang Zhibin and Prof. Zhang Jie shared their thoughts on the development of artificial general intelligence and its application prospects. Both experts noted that the launch of AGI and Applications provides a new platform for international academic exchange and the dissemination of research achievements among scholars and experts in related fields. They expressed their hope that the journal will bring together more high-quality research in the future and promote both theoretical innovation and practical applications of artificial general intelligence.
