From August 31 to September 11, the fifth Al-Farabi Kazakh National University study program was hosted by the Executive Development Program(EDP) Center of the Business School. Following the established "Classroom teaching + Pactical visit" model, this program covers a wide range of fields including emergency management, effective incentive skills for high-performance teams, reshaping and improving leadership in the digital age, artificial intelligence, supply chain management, e-commerce, and talent cultivation.
This program is designed in line with global development trends and the local development needs of Kazakhstan, and has invited multiple professors and industry experts to deliver lectures.
Professor Ge Yuhui from the USST Business School focused on team roles, performance feedback and organizational culture. Using case studies, he discussed how incentive systems can balance fairness and efficiency. Starting from digital transformation, organizational change, and generational differences, he also analyzed in depth the paths and methods for reshaping leadership in the context of digital transformation. Professor Fan Chongjun introduced the development and business models of China's e-commerce from the perspectives of the platform economy, cross-border e-commerce, digital marketing, and consumer behavior. Professor Lei Chao from the College of Transport & Communications, Shanghai Maritime University, presented China's strategic layout and practical achievements in supply chain and logistics. Dr. Huang Zhongyi from the Business School focused on risks and disasters in society, systematically demonstrating the application of digital and intelligent technologies in urban safety and emergency management. Dr. Yan Jianhai, drawing on generative artificial intelligence, analyzed the opportunities and challenges that AI brings to organizational management and business models. Dr. Shen Li explored innovation and entrepreneurship around topics such as investment environment assessment and government-enterprise communication. Dr. Hu Zhonghui focused on talent strategy, training systems, and incentive mechanisms, helping participants understand practical experience in building localized talent pipelines.
During the program, participants went beyond the classroom and engaged in immersive learning at enterprises and institutions. At Haizol, they learned how an "AI + supply chain" platform uses big data and artificial intelligence to achieve precise matching of global manufacturing resources. At SenseTime, they experienced the application of artificial intelligence technologies. At JA Solar, they gained on-site understanding of world-leading photovoltaic power generation and green energy industry. At Shanghai Cell Therapy Group, they observed product research as well as clinical applications, learning about China's achievements in cutting-edge medical fields. In addition, the participants visited the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the Hongqiao International Low-Altitude Economy Industrial Park, Shanghai Graphic Digital Information Co., Ltd., as well as Yuyuan Garden.
Since the two universities signed the strategic cooperation agreement, the EDP Center has held five consecutive Al-Farabi Kazakh National University research study programs. Aiming to serve the Belt and Road Initiative and promote China-Kazakhstan people-to-people and educational exchanges, the program has consistently optimized its course modules. It has developed a mature model of "specialized lectures + enterprise visits + cultural experiences + exchange seminars," and has also promoted practical cooperation between the two sides in faculty exchanges, joint courses, and participant exchanges.
