On the morning of July 8th, the Party Committee of The Business School and Shanghai Institute of Development Strategy held the signing ceremony of joint construction and joint study activity of Four Histories in the room 506 of the School. Li Xianbo（the director of Shanghai institute of development strategy）, Xu Jun（the Party branch secretary）, Zhang Yunwei （Director of the Urban Strategy Department）, Zhao Laijun ( Dean of USST Business School), Wang Wei (the secretary of the Party committee of Business School), Zhang Yongqing (the associate dean of Business Schoo), Zhang Zhen (the associate dean of Business School), Pu Yingying (vice secretary of the Party Committee), Yan Ling ( the chairman of the School union), and the teachers from every related departments attended the activities. Li Qin, deputy head of the University Party Committee Organization Department, was invited to attend this ceremony and made the comments.
Pu Yingying, the host of the signing ceremony, first introduced the guests who attended the signing ceremony. Later, Dean Zhao Laijun showed welcome to the arrival of Director Li Xianbo and other guests. Dean Zhao introduced the basic situation of the Business School to guests, and expressed the hope that the establishment of partnership could be an opportunity to explore the new model of talent training and teachers team constructing, promote the Business School and Shanghai institute of development strategy to the further development with the lead of Party building.
Director Li Xianbo Introduced the Shanghai Institute of Development Strategy and its current research work to the faculty and students of the School. He said that after listening to Dean Zhao's introduction of the school, he believed that the Business School not only has a profound history of running a school, but also plays an important role in talent training, scientific research and social service, especially in serving the economic and social development of Shanghai. He hoped that the two sides could complement each other in community-level Party building, academic cooperation, resource sharing and other aspects through joint cooperation and achieve win-win results.
Then, on behalf of both parties, Wang Wei and Xu Jun signed an agreement respectively.
After the signing ceremony, Wang Wei, the secretary of the Party Committee of the Business School, presided over the joint study and education activity of the Four Histories. In this activity, Shanghai urban development strategy evolution history review was reported by the Shanghai Development strategy Research Institute Party branch secretary Xu Jun. Xu Jun introduced the historical context of three large strategic researches, reviewed the Shanghai economy development strategy research, Pudong district’s development strategy research, Shanghai’s development research towards the 21st century in the spanning 40 years of development, as well as the building of four centers in 2020 which vigorously promotes the evolution of urban core competence. Xu Jun also introduced the basic contents of the study on Shanghai's development strategy for the next 30 years, and described the development vision of Shanghai to become a global city leading the world civilization.
Wang Wei talked about his own feelings of learning which combined with the spirit of the resolution adopted at the ninth meeting of the 11th CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee on the In-depth implementation of the important concept of Building people in people's Cities, People's Cities for the people and writing a New Chapter of people's Cities in the New Era. Ms. Wang said: from the rapid changes in Shanghai's urban development, we deeply felt that the CPC's purpose of serving the people as the starting point of all its work, and always adhere the original heart for the people's supremacy in urban development and construction. She asked all Party members to deeply understand the four histories guidance report and the spirit of the ninth plenary session of the 11th Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China resolution, and take a serious thinking that how to play our own roles in the construction of a high-level university as a member of USST, and how to service and contribute to the development of Shanghai city.
After the learning activity, Vice Minister Li Qin made comments on the activity. She said that the strong alliance between the Business School and the Shanghai Institute of Strategic Development is a new starting point for the two sides to strengthen cooperation, exchanges and construction. By centering on the idea of promoting Party construction to better development, we should improve the political position and build a new pattern of open grass-roots Party construction featuring resource sharing, complementary advantages and joint improvement. The two sides can embody their mission and sense of responsibility in serving Shanghai's urban construction and development, so as to practice the concept of people build cities, and cities are for people.
The Four Histories learning and education activity of the Party Committee of the Business School was carried out by the way of online and offline study simultaneously, and the every Party branches of the departments carried out their own seminars with the different specific themes after the Study Activity.
