In 2018, the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program center successfully obtained the International Project Management Professional (IPMP) qualification certification training unit qualification. In order to help students to obtain international professional qualification certificates with high gold content and promote their career development, the first batch of IPMP certification for MEM, MBA and Master of Project Management was launched in April this year. After submission and qualification, a total of 22 trainees participated in IPMP C-level certification (attend case discussion and interview directly without written examination) and 24 trainees participated in IPMP D-level certification (obtain D-level certification directly without written examination).
On June 15 and 16, Xi’an Huading Project Management Consulting Co. LTD conducted a two-day systematic training for C-level students. Teacher Zhang Meilu, the training expert, explained the methods and tools used in each life cycle process of project management, explained the cases and guided everyone to simulate the case discussion of the certification process. Twenty-three participants (including a participant from Fudan University) were divided into four groups to discuss communication, actively participate in case simulations, and apply the project management ideas, methods and tools to practice.
On June 29 and 30, two senior appraisers from IPMP China Certification Committee conducted case discussion and individual interview for the participants. In the case authentication part of the group, 23 students formed four project teams by drawing lots. After extracting the case questions, they selected the project manager in turn and divided the tasks according to their field of expertise. Finally, the project report was presented and explained in turn. The two evaluators made comments and summaries on the performance of each group, giving full recognition to the mentalities, certification discipline and reporting norms of the trainees, at the same time, it also points out the shortcomings of the students in management innovation and overall consideration. Geng Xiuli, a MEM professional teacher, and the teachers of the Professional Degree Education Center Office organized and participated in the whole process of the certification. After the two-days certification, the serious attitude and solid professional foundation of students, standardized and efficient organization of Professional Degree Education Center left the good impression on the two appraisers.

On August 26, IPMP China Certification Committee opened the C-level certification results query, IPMP C-level certification of 22 applicants from business school all passed. The certificate will be issued in September.
The successful completion of the International Program Manager Certification (IPMP) marks a new step in the development of the MEM program of the Business School, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, which will contribute to the improvement of teaching and recruitment.
