On June 4th, the demonstration meeting for the independent setting of the secondary direction of the industrial engineering and logistics engineering graduate professional degree category was held in the conference room 506 of the School of Management. The meeting was attended by: Professor Pan Ershun, Dean of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Professor Li Haolin, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology; Professor Han Yin, Dean of the Department of Traffic Engineering, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology; Professor Ma Huimin, Director of the Graduate Division and Director of the Subject Office of Shanghai Dianji University; General Manager Zhu Pengyu (Professor-level Senior Engineer) of SIPG Technology Department. The meeting was presided over by Professor Zhang Yongqing, the Deputy Dean of the Business School in charge of graduate students, and Professor Ye Chunming, the Associate Dean of Research of the School and the leader of the professional degree in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Engineering, reported on the development of the two disciplines. At the same time, the head of the Graduate Academic Affairs Office of the School and some teachers of the Department of Industrial Engineering attended the demonstration meeting.
The demonstration experts group has fully recognized and affirmed the two directions of industrial engineering and logistics engineering in terms of faculty, personnel training, and subject field development. Experts believe that the training objectives of these two directions are clear, the positioning is accurate, and the overall plan is scientific and reasonable, which meets the overall requirements for talent training in their respective fields. Experts suggest that on the basis of maintaining the existing advantages and characteristics of the two majors of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, further grasp the new trends and requirements of talent training, and further refine and improve the professional degree training program. Finally, the expert group agreed to continue to set up two professional degree directions (fields) in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Engineering within the new professional degree category.
