Recently, the 2019 Cross-Strait International Trade Competition for College Students was held at Deming University of Finance and Technology in Taiwan. The competition is mainly dedicated to cultivating college students’ comprehensive abilities and qualities in preparation for trade shows, product launches, and business English communication. 14 teams from 5 universities in mainland China and 7 universities in Taiwan participated in the competition. After fierce competition, our school’s team “Hangzhou Zero Zero Technology Co., Ltd.” won the special prize of the finals with the first place in the English conference.
The team of our school is led by Deputy Secretary Yao Xiuwen of the School of Management. Senior teacher Tang Qiao of the Department of International Trade and Professor Luo Fang, head of the Department of International Trade, are the instructors of the competition. Eight students are from the School of Management, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Publishing and Printing, and the School of Optoelectronics. In the process of preparing for the competition, teachers and students used their spare time to earnestly and actively make a lot of preparations for the competition, from the selection of exhibits, the design of the booth, the arrangement of the product launch, the contract, the quotation, etc. . In the competition, the students’ international thinking, fluent and professional English expression, understanding of new cross-border trade models, and confident and appropriate business etiquette were highly recognized and praised by the judges and industry professionals.
Through the competition, the academic exchanges and exchanges between the two sides of the strait have been strengthened, and the students have a deeper understanding of cross-border trade; at the same time, it is also in response to the school’s “13th Five-Year Plan” guiding ideology and builds the School of Management into a high-level international model. The college cultivates applied talents in the field of international economics and trade with a solid foundation in economic theory, strong learning ability, high research ability, and good English application ability, as well as the requirements of AACSB international certification for internationalization.
