On October 31, the National Finals of the 3rd “Zhisheng Cup” National University Student Financial Technology Innovation Ability Competition was held online through the “Zhisheng Cloud” method and monitored by Tencent Meeting in real-time. The 3rd “Zhisheng Cup” National University Student Financial Technology Innovation Ability Competition is sponsored by the Economics and Management Discipline Group of the Joint Association of National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers of Colleges and Universities. A total of 162 undergraduate teams from 90 universities across the country participated in the competition. With the theme of “Blockchain Financial Application Capability”, the competition is based on the blockchain financial knowledge contest, as well as blockchain design and chain applications (blockchain bills, blockchain supply chain finance, blockchain bonds, blockchain securities Capitalization, digital currency, blockchain cross-border payment and financing, blockchain guarantee, navigation insurance and delay insurance, blockchain auditing, etc.) as the content, comprehensively test students’ theoretical knowledge of blockchain finance and Practical application capabilities in various fields of blockchain finance.

With the strong support of the Business School, the Department of Finance attaches great importance to it and formed a guidance team with the head of the department Zhang Qinglong as the leader, and two teachers Zhu Luxiu and Wang Meijiao as the instructors, and selected the above-mentioned eight 2018 financial undergraduates Two teams formed to participate in the finals. The three teachers gave careful guidance before the competition, from organizing the registration, learning, and preparing for blockchain financial knowledge, to the overall planning of the pre-competition program, equipment preparation and debugging, and question answering. In the 31st match, the team members trusted and cooperated and actively studied match strategies and match plans. After 2 hours and 30 minutes of competition, including 30 minutes of theory competition and 2 hours of application ability competition, they finally won the first prize and third prize respectively. Three teachers also won the Outstanding Instructor Award.

On November 8, the award ceremony of the 3rd “Zhisheng Cup” National University Student Financial Technology Innovation Ability Competition was held at Tianjin Foreign Studies University. Due to the prevention and control of the epidemic, the organizer only invited 1 teacher representative from the winning unit to attend the award ceremony. Mr. Zhu Luxiu Two winning teams representing the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology participated in the award ceremony.

In recent years, the Department of Finance has been actively exploring the teaching reform of undergraduate majors, focusing on the cultivation and training of innovation awareness and quality of financial professionals, as well as the cultivation of students' financial technology theory and practical ability.
