Introduction
Management Science and Engineering is developed from the foundation of the Discipline of Systems Engineering. It is a comprehensive discipline formed through the integration of multidisciplinary fields such as Natural Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Social Sciences, etc. In 1998, the discipline is approved to award master and doctoral degrees. In 2003, it is approved to establish the post-doctoral station. In 2012, the discipline is rated as the first-class discipline of Shanghai municipality. In 2015, it enters the construction project of the I class Plateau Discipline of Shanghai Municipal. In 2018, it begins the second phase construction of the Plateau Discipline of Shanghai Municipal. In 2021, it enters the discipline construction project of high-level universities of Shanghai Municipal. It ranks 19th nationwide in the 4th round of discipline evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Education. The discipline focuses on the development of the fields including the Management System Engineering, Emergency Management and Public Opinions Management, Environmental Economics and Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Financial Management Engineering, Business Management Engineering, and System Analysis and Integration.
