Leaders of the Research Institute of Shanghai Civil Defense Office Visited the Business School for Investigation and Communication

To implement the spirit of general secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on civil air defense, and to further enhance the role of science and technology in casting shield to strengthen defense, USST signed a cooperation agreement with Shanghai Civil Defense Office in 2020. To implement the meeting’s topic, on the afternoon of March 26, Yao Baohua, the secretary of the Research Institute of Shanghai Civil Defense Office, visited the Business School for investigation and communication. The dean Zhao Laijun, vice-dean He Jianjia, and Pei Songwen, the vice-dean of the Research Institute of USST participated in the communication meeting.

On behalf of the Business School, vice-dean He first expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of the leaders from the Research Institute of Shanghai Civil Defense Office, and then reported the achieved results and impacts bythe Executive Development Programs (EDP) Center of the Business School in the past year. He pointed out that the unique resource advantages of the Business School should combine with the works of the Research Institute of Shanghai Civil Defense Office, and promote and implement excellent plans by continuous communication and exploration.

Dean Zhao introduced the basic development of the school perspective from the history, scale, disciplinary construction, etc., and put forward principles based on extensive cooperation. Specifically, he said that we can make good use of school’s resources to propose a widely-used and time-sensitive cooperation plan, in the direction of combining talent cultivation and research, subject cooperation and training, as well as the co-building laboratories.

Secretary Yao expressed his views from 19 aspects extracted from the cooperation agreement and also based on his own work experience. He said that in 2021, we need to implement a part of the cooperation agreement combined with the characters of the time, and implement specific results. Thus we can achieve a win-win situation based on the continuous cooperation platform. Vice-dean Pei supplemented the plan for the implementation of the work.

Finally, the two parts conducted in-depth discussions on the cooperation plan for 2021 and reached a consensus to form sustainable cooperation by working together to serve the society and achieve a multi-win situation.
