On the morning of March 9, Sun Jingquan, the mayor of Suiyang district in Shangqiu, Ding Feng, the director of the Education Bureau of Suiyang district, together with professor Ge Yuhui, the executive deputy director of the Executive Development Programs (EDP) center of USST, associate professor Zhang Baoming, the director of the Comprehensive Office of the EDP Center et al. went to the BOE Technology Group to discuss the cooperation issues. The president Han Yongsheng, the general manager Cao Chunlei, and the related personnel of Suzhou BOE Human Resources Development Co., Ltd. extended a warm welcome to all the leaders.
First, all the participants visited the BOE product exhibition center and the screen product assembly workshop. After that, they had a discussion on the tripartite cooperation among government, school, and enterprise.
President Han first introduced the overall situation of BOE. BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. was founded in April 1993, which is an Internet of Things (IoT) company that provides intelligent port products and professional services for information interaction and human health. Specifically, BOE built an aircraft carrier business group based on the semiconductor display business, integrated with Mini LED, sensors and solutions, smart system innovation, and smart medical industry. Subsequently, Cao Chunlei, the manager of the Human Resources Department, introduced the integrated training project for BOE’s employees. BOE’s salary standards are not very competitive in the industry. In recent years, it has faced a shortage of talents and laborers. To train management and technical talents, BOE has established the BOE Technical College in cooperation with relevant vocational colleges to carry out management and skills training, including organizational leadership, intelligent manufacturing, display and sensors, IoT and healthcare, etc., to empower the upstream and downstream industry chains.
District mayor Sun introduced the population structure of Suiyang district in Shangqiu and the employment pressure it faced. Due to the low level of urbanization, the population size of Shangqiu is relatively large but with a low salary. At the same time, Shangqiu has a complete education system with many secondary and higher education colleges. Therefore, it has a good foundation for carrying out training cooperation with BOE and related companies. This is of great significance for increasing family income and the level of employment of the labor force. During the meeting, district mayor Sun and the relevant leaders of BOE had a deep communication in some details of the way of the university-enterprise cooperation.
During the meeting, Professor Ge said that he was very happy to promote this effective communication and collaboration between the government department and BOE enterprise. The current innovation model has evolved from collaborative innovation to integration innovation, emphasizing the form of innovative alliances among government, enterprises, universities, and users. The face-to-face communication between District mayor Sun and BOE is not only a manifestation of integration innovation, but also an innovation in the vocational education university-enterprise cooperation training model. He sincerely hoped that the cooperation between the Suiyang district in Shangqiu and BOE can be implemented successfully. At the same time, he sincerely invited leaders from the Suiyang district in Shangqiu come to the EDP center of the Business School of USST to carry out cooperation in education and talent training. The EDP center will definitely build a platform for industry-university-research innovation and provide training and development services.
