Updated:2021-04-02

On the morning of April 2, the 2021 Student Employment Seminar of the Business School was held in Conference Room 506. Deputy Director of the Student Employment Guidance Center Li Qunhui, Dean Zhao Laijun, Party Secretary Wang Wei, Deputy Party Secretary Pu Yingying, and counselor representatives of graduating classes from undergraduate and graduate attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Pu Yingying.

At the meeting, Li Qunhui conveyed the new requirements of the Ministry of Education for the work of the class of 2021 graduates, introduced the employment data of Shanghai and the latest employment situation of the university at present, and analyzed the changes of the employment situation in different channels at the same time. Pu Yingying introduced the basic employment situation and data of school and university graduates, compared with last year's employment data, and pointed out that at present, students were generally confused about employment. Visiting more large-scale excellent enterprises and increasing the opportunities of students' internships and practice were helpful to guide them to form correct view of employment and facilitate students' employment. Graduating class counselors from undergraduate and graduate introduced the employment situation of undergraduate and graduate graduates in detail. The participants actively made suggestions, focusing on the employment situation of undergraduate and graduate students, the problems encountered at present, and the expansion of employment channels.

Zhao Laijun stressed the importance of employment. He stressed that, first, full-time teachers should work with counselors to jointly promote the employment of students, which requires the joint management of the Party and administration of the school and the participation and cooperation of all teaching staff; second, strengthen the academic atmosphere of the school, increase the organization of academic activities and enhance the competitiveness of students in academic and employment; and third, open up various employment channels, especially alumni resources, to provide students with more employment information and jobs.

Wang Wei pointed out that the employment work should start from two aspects. First of all, let parents and students understand the importance of employment to school, disciplines and students' personal development. We are standing on the shoulders of our forefathers. The graduating class is benefiting from great conditions made by our alumni and should not forget to give back to the younger students. Secondly, we should further optimize the employment incentive policy. Reward should be differentiated and humanized to improve teachers' sense of responsibility and enthusiasm to participate in employment work.
