Updated:2021-03-31

On March 30, 2021, the Deep research thinking and forge ahead academic sharing meeting was held in the second conference room of the Business School. The meeting invited three students as guest speakers, including Gao Jian, Ph.D. in Systems Science from Class 2018, Xu Yufei, Master of Public Administration from Class 2018 and Liu Wenyi, Master of Industrial Engineering from Class 2019. More than 80 graduate students from finance, international trade, labor economics, statistics, accounting, systems science, industrial engineering, transportation engineering, public administration and technical economy and management attended the meeting.

At the academic sharing meeting, the three speakers shared their experiences on how to carry out scientific research, paper writing and submission. Xu Yufei, Master of Public Administration from Class 2018, shared experiences with theme Xueyuan miscellaneous talk. He mentioned Before writing a paper, we must think carefully, read with questions, and make clear what problems the article should solve; secondly, we should learn to organize and summarize the literature and increase knowledge reserve by reading high-quality documents. Finally, we should list the frame map according to the existing documents and finish writing the paper. ”The paper is not one person's pilgrimage. Thinking collision can wipe out the spark of wisdom. It is suggested that students should communicate with others, actively communicate with mentors, maintain a good attitude in order to go further on the road of scientific research.” Liu Wenyi, Master of Industrial Engineering from Class 2019, shared experiences with theme of A self-description of a national tenth-level nonstriker. He jokingly called himself a national tenth-level nonstriker. He thought follow running is a process of learning where he could continuously learn new knowledge, found the gap with others, and constantly understand himself better through “follow running”. Liu Wenyi proposed that we should learn to make fun out of suffering, and constantly make self-recursion in which to gain pleasure and achievement, to learn happily and to find interesting knowledge. Gao Jian, Ph.D. student in Systems Science from Class 2018 said in his sharing that the knowledge depths are different in undergraduate, masters and doctoral studies. As a Ph.D. student, one needs to try to break through the boundary of knowledge. And how to break through it requires constant trying. “In the process of scientific research, remember not to procrastinate too much, do not think of pursuing a Ph.D. degree as merely attending school or work. Scientific research should be cautious and serious . After the sharing, the guests answered the students' questionss one by one. The lecture lasted nearly two hours and the atmosphere was active.
