On April 17, the first-class curriculum construction teacher training class of innovation and entrepreneurship for Shanghai Customs College was successfully opened in the EDP Center of USST. Ge Yuhui, executive deputy director of the EDP Center of Business School of USST, and Wang Yifan, deputy director of the Academic Administration of Shanghai Customs College attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhang Baoming, director of the Comprehensive Office of the EDP Center of USST.

Professor Ge Yuhui first expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of all teachers of Shanghai Customs College. He briefly introduced the basic situations and characteristic curriculums of USST, Business School, and the EDP Center to all trainees. He said that the Business School of USST has been committed to the training of international senior management talents and each type of innovative and entrepreneurial talent, and very honored to communicate with and learn from all teachers of Shanghai Customs College. Director Wang Yifan expressed his gratitude for the elaborate preparations of the EDP Center of Business School of USST. He mentioned that USST has rich experience in innovation and entrepreneurship education and hopes to learn dual innovation experience from USST. He also hoped that they can improve the guidance level and promote the quality of the dual innovation project of Shanghai Customs College.

To implement the spirit of the national education conference and the new era undergraduate education of national institutions of higher learning work conference and the “Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Promotion of Education Modernization (2018-2022)”, meanwhile, to respond positively the “Double Ten Thousand Plan” of first-class undergraduate courses of Ministry of Education and to help teachers to build “Golden Course” of innovation and entrepreneurship, the Executive Development Programs (EDP) center of USST planned and organized the first-class curriculum construction teacher training class of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The first-class curriculum construction teacher training class of innovation and entrepreneurship combined the advantages and characteristics of the first-class undergraduate construction practice of management science and the ERP teaching in the National Demonstration Center of Experimental Teaching in Economy and Management of USST.
Through the experiential teaching method, innovation and entrepreneurship teachers had a comprehensive understanding of construction requirements and evaluation standards of national first-class curriculums. They mastered the basic knowledge, basic theories, basic flows, and basic methods of innovation and entrepreneurship, and further improved the curriculum design of innovation and entrepreneurship “golden course” and experiential teaching skills.
The project combined the classroom teachings and practical visits, including four major modules like the first-class curriculum teaching design and practice, the country’s first entrepreneurship class pilot sharing, the national laboratory business management ERP sand table simulation teaching training, and the innovative company visits. Through the first-class curriculum teaching design and practical courses, all trainees fully realized the major gaps in undergraduate education between Chinese universities and world-class universities, and comprehensively understood the construction requirements and evaluation standards of national first-class courses. This project also provided trainees with ideas and methods for creating high-quality courses. Through the case sharing of the first pilot entrepreneurship class in the country, this project understood the characteristics of trainees and teaching modes in the innovation and entrepreneurship class, and provided them with valuable experience in dual innovation education. All trainees mastered the teaching skills of ERP sand table simulation of business management by the operation and learning of the ERP sand table simulation in the national laboratory enterprise management.
Through visiting Shanghai Manheng, an innovative high-tech company, all trainees had a real experience of the application of VR technology in innovation and entrepreneurship teaching and felt the tremendous changes that technology has brought to education and teaching.
