Supervisors in Business Administration attended the 2021 Shanghai Postgraduate Supervisors Professional Capacity Enhancement Workshop on the morning Nov 19. The attendants watched the online live in Conference Room 506 of the Business School. Professor JIN Runtian, Deputy Dean of Antai School of Economics-Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor ZHU Qinghua and Professor LU Lin of Antai School of Management were invited to give live lectures. Director of Higher Education Office of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Mr. SHU Jinlong, presided over the meeting. Prof. ZHANG Yongqing, Deputy Dean of Business School, and graduate supervisors from the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Accounting and the Department of Industrial Engineering attended the workshop.
Prof. JING Runtian introduced in detail the Department of Business Administration of Antai College of Economics-Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in aspects of the discipline history and current situation, discipline construction direction and policy support, talent cultivation and social service. Prof. ZHU Qinghua shared the experience of student cultivation in this discipline in four aspects: exploring unlimited potential of students, teaching according to their talents, keeping the bottom line, and thinking about student cultivation. Prof. LU Lin made a report on Theory and discovery -- exploration and reflection in guiding thesis of professional degree students, which discussed about the cultivation of professional degree students from four levels. After that, the three professors discussed the theme of Be Responsible in Conducting Management Research.
In the end, the participating supervisors discussed the current situation, construction goals and future direction of the Department of Business Administration USST. This study is valuable not only for actualizing the duties of building morale on postgraduate supervisors and improving their professional capability, but also for the discipline development in business administration of USST.
