On the afternoon of April 23, 2022, the final of the 12th National College Students' e-commerce innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship qualification competition was successfully held in University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. The final was hosted by USST and undertaken by the Department of Information Management, USST-BS.
A total of 51 teams from all schools of USST have signed up for the competition Since the announcement came out in October 2021. The competition was heavily supported by USST- BS and guided by Vice Dean Zhang Zheng and Teacher Shu Yiming. After rounds of competition, 24 teams were finally selected for the finals. The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Zhu Xiaodong of the Department of Information Management. Professor Fan Chongjun, Director of the Department of Information Management, and Associate Professor Liu Yong, Deputy director of the Department, made summary comments.
The entries encompassed rural revitalization, artificial intelligence application, cultural inheritance, children's growth education, environment protection, fresh food e-commerce, etc. The works combine online and offline operation, virtual and entity, theory and practice. The students showed the determination and courage of mass entrepreneurship and innovation, applied their professional knowledge to innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial practice. Some start-up projects have been successfully launched and operated. In oral defense, students have been fully prepared and responded carefully and actively. They calmly answered the questions of the judges, and showed a strong sense of innovation and entrepreneurship potential.
At present, Shanghai is in the critical period of fighting COVID-19 epidemic. The faculty the Department of Information Management USST-BS have overcome many difficulties, organized the final, assisted the participating teams, guided the participating teams in making competition videos, and invited and organized experts to review the participating work. All these have ensured the smooth holding of the finals.
The National College Students' E-commerce Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Challenge Competition, referred to as the Three Innovation Competition, has been listed in the Class A event of the national college discipline competition of USST, and has attracted much attention. The “Three Innovation Competition” is hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University and the National E-Commerce Industry Education Integration Innovation Alliance. Three Innovation Competition adopts the three-level competition system of school competition, provincial competition and national competition. It is a disciplinary competition to stimulate college students' interest and potential, cultivate their innovative consciousness, creative thinking, entrepreneurial ability and team spirit. It has played a positive role in innovative education and practical teaching reform, and the relationship between industry, university and research. The completion has been widely hailed by the society.
After fierce competition, 2 special prizes, 4 first prizes, 8 second prizes and 10 third prizes were finally awarded. The competition came to a successful conclusion.
