On the morning of June 5th, Prof. He Jianjia, vice dean of ourschool, visited Yang Shanlin, a famous expert in Management Science and Information System Engineering, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of the Hefei University of Technology, and reported the work of this semester to Academician Yang, then asked for advice on the development of Business School.
He Jianjia first reported in detail to Academician Yang several major works recently carried out by our school in detail on behalf of the school, including the maintenance of AACSB certification on-site visits, the establishment of the School of Intelligent Emergency Management, the construction of the Intelligent Emergency Laboratory and the strengthening of administrative personnel allocation. After hearing this, Academician Yang affirmed and congratulated the school's recent work, inquired about the progress of relevant work, and had an in-depth understanding.
Next, in combination with the current development of the school, He Jianjia consulted Academician Yang on the main problems faced in the development of scientific research, internationalisation, laboratories and the next stage of work planning, especially the organised scientific research combined with theme education, the innovation of organisational forms and operating mechanisms. Academician Yang listened to the report patiently and carefully and conducted in-depth exchanges and guidance on the main problems faced by organised scientific research.
Finally, Academician Yang expressed his hope for more contact, exchanges and discussions with the school. He hoped that the school could make continuous efforts to develop and innovate based on the local practice in China, cultivate and spread management theories and methods suitable for China, interact with well-known universities and enterprises at home and abroad, and make new contributions to training talents for the new era of Chinese modernisation. Continue to promote the high-quality development of the school.
Academician Yang Shanlin is a well-known expert in Management Science and Information System Engineering in China, and he has made creative contributions in the field of "Decision Science and Information System Technology and Its Application in Engineering Management". He has won 2-second prizes inthe National Science and Technology Progress Award, 6 first prizes in Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology, and 1 first prize in Natural Science from the Ministry of Education. He has published 5 academic works and more than 400 academic papers in important journals at home and abroad and at international conferences.
Academician Yang attaches great importance to talent training. He believes, "As a teacher, one must have a noble ideological level, selfless dedication, broad-mindedness, a strong sense of social responsibility, a persistent pursuit of truth, and a profound professional level. One must always strictly demand himself/herself in everything and everywhere, and be a role model to win students' genuine respect, influence students deeply, and educate students well".
He has won three-second prizes from National Teaching Achievement Awards, the National Higher Education Teaching Outstanding Teacher Award in 2008, the National May 1 Labor Medal in 2014, the Fudan Management Outstanding Contribution Award in 2015, and the first National Innovation Excellence Award in 2017. In 2018, he was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award for Systems Science and Systems Engineering" by the Systems Engineering Society of China, awarded the title of "National Model Teacher" by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Education in 2019, and selected as a candidate for National Model Teaching and Educating in 2021.
