On the morning of September 7th, 2023. Business School held 2023 New Faculty Training Symposium. Members of the Party and Government Affairs Leading Group, faculty representatives and new teachers joining the faculty team from 2022 to 2023 attended the symposium. The symposium was presided over by Ma Jingbo, secretary of the Business School’s Party committee.

Dean Zhao Laijun introduced various topics, including the mission of education, scientific research, evaluation and conferral of academic titles, teaching performance appraisals, and development of faculty professional ethics. He emphasized the importance of quickly adapting to the faculty position, excelling in teaching and educating duties, and actively participating in student management like serving as a headteacher and part-time counselor. He encouraged faculty members to identify research directions, publish high-level papers, grasp research project application opportunities, enhance their sense of responsibility, and pay attention to the construction of faculty ethics. Meanwhile, Dean Zhao Laijun also urged faculty members to engage in school’s events, and to establish a solid foundation for future career development.

Lv Ke, a new faculty who joined the Department of Industrial Engineering in 2023, expressed her feelings in the past six months and expressed her willingness to participate in the construction of the school and disciplines. She desired to enhance her research capabilities, explore new research methods and techniques, improve her teaching ability, and acquire new teaching skills to complete teaching tasks. She strived to establish good professional ethics and to become a dependable teacher and friend to students.

Vice President Zhang Zheng and Deputy Secretary Pu Yingying of the USSTBS Party Committee introduced their responsibilities in graduate teaching and student management. They also expressed their expectations for the future development of the faculty. Zhang Zheng encouraged new faculty to join in teaching and research work, and provide students with higher quality guidance. Pu Yingying hoped that they could adapt to the working environment of the school as soon as possible, actively participate in the management of students’ ideological and political education, and make contributions to the development and growth of students.

Ma Jingbo welcomed the fourteen new faculty members and thanked them for choosing education as their career. He emphasized that faculty should always keep in mind the mission of strengthening education and cultivating talents for social development. He encouraged the faculty to continuously improve their teaching and research skills, establish a positive perspective on teaching, research and education, and then set a solid foundation for career development; Ma Jingbo also stressed that teaching is an art that requires continuous improvement for students' growth and development.
