On March 6th,the Hujiang Economics and Management Forum Series (87th Session) was successfully held at the Lecture Hall on the fourth floor of Building A of the Business School. The event featured a scholarly presentation titled “Demand Forecast and Capacity Management Under Uncertainty for Semiconductor Supply Chain Resilience” delivered by Fu Wenhan, a lecturer of the Department of Industrial Engineering. More than 50 teachers and students from relevant disciplines of the Business School participated in this report.

In the report, He introduced the specific background and significance of studying the resilience of semiconductor supply chains and proposed a smart supply chain decision framework under uncertainty to address the issues of low information transparency, long production cycles, and continuous technology migration in the upstream and downstream of semiconductor supply chains. Subsequently, the report introduced the application of the supply chain decision framework to solve intermittent demand forecasting problems and capacity management problems under subjective prediction uncertainty. The design ideas, algorithm steps, and combination decision-making mechanisms were detailed, and the theoretical research conclusions were empirically tested using actual production data. The research results effectively improve the accuracy of demand forecasting and capacity management efficiency, enhance the flexibility of semiconductor supply chain management, and enhance industrial competitiveness.

In conclusion, Zhang Hao, a lecturer in the Department of Industrial Engineering, offered insightful commentary on the lecture. The event concluded with an engaging discussion among the participants, fostering a deeper understanding of the lecture’s content.
