On March 21st, the Hujiang Economics and Management Forum Series (89th Session) was successfully held at the Lecture Hall on the fourth floor of Building A of the Business School. The event featured a scholarly presentation titled “Characteristics and Evolution of the Land-Sea composite cross-border logistics network under the Belt and Road Initiative” delivered by Wei Hairui, an associate professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering. About 60 teachers and students participated in this lecture.
In the report, she introduced the proposal of the the Belt and Road Initiative and the profound changes it has brought to the cross-border logistics pattern. She elaborated on the characteristics and evolution of the Belt and Road land-sea composite cross-border logistics network participated by China's inland regions from three stages, namely, the analysis of the characteristics of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road maritime logistics network participated by inland regions, the analysis of the characteristics of the land-sea composite cross-border logistics network based on inland ports, and the analysis of the future evolution of the land-sea composite cross-border logistics network. In particular, the following aspects were elaborated in detail: the demonstration of the complexity of the land-sea composite cross-border logistics network structure in which inland regions participate, the construction of connectivity evaluation methods based on the characteristics of composite networks, the construction and optimization of evolutionary models, and the suggestions and implications of the research conclusions for the development of real-world cross-border logistics networks. The lecture also hopes to provide useful inspiration for graduate students in academic research on how to describe the research conclusion and how to gradually deepen the research around a research problem.
Dr. Yang Yuying, a lecturer in the Department of Industrial Engineering, hosted and commented on the lecture. Finally, the teachers and students attending the lecture had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the content of the lecture.
