The Delegation of the Traffic Control Center of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission Visited the Business School

On the afternoon of March 22, a delegation from the Traffic Control Center (TCC) of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission visited the Business School. The delegation was led by Feng Jiawu, deputy secretary of the TCC Party Committee. Ma Jingbo, secretary of the USSTBS Party Committee, and Pu Yingying, deputy secretary of the USSTBS Party Committee, together with representatives from the School of Intelligent Emergency Management (SIEM) and the Department of Transportation System Engineering, participated in the exchange meeting. The meeting was hosted by Liu Weiwei, director of the Department of Transportation System Engineering.

Ma Jingbo, on behalf of USSTBS, expressed his warm welcome to the TCC delegation. He introduced the Business School’s recent achievements and future development plans. He expressed the hope that the two sides could collaborate in talent training, party-building activities and more to jointly promote the development of transportation research.

Feng Jiawu expressed his gratitude for the reception of USSTBS. He gave an overview of the TCC, including its main responsibilities, running status and news promotion. He praised USSTBS for its achievements in scientific research and talent training in the field of Transportation.

During the meeting, Pu Yingying mentioned that although the students from USSTBS have shown great loyalty to enterprises, there are relatively few opportunities for them to have internships in government-related institutions/enterprises. She hoped that TCC could provide more internships in the future to enhance collaboration in talent cultivation.

Yuan Jun, deputy director of the TCC Operation and Analysis Office, discussed the responsibilities of the office and its future work plans in the Yangtze River Delta region. He expressed his desire to combine academic research with practical applications to improve the work of the Operation and Analysis Office.

Han Yin, academic leader in Transportation Engineering, introduced the discipline's history, research direction, and faculty team.

Fang Zhiming, secretary-general of SIEM, introduced the development of SIEM since its establishment and the results achieved in the research on evacuation simulation.

USSTBS and TCC had a fruitful discussion about transportation discipline, emergency management, and other related fields. The two sides expressed their expectation to strengthen collaboration in talent training, industry-university-research cooperation and other areas.
