On the morning of April 19, Qian Qing, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of Shanghai Public Transport Card Co., Ltd.,(SPTCC), Shen Lei, deputy general manager, Wang Jian, executive deputy manager of the User Development Department, Hu Bin and Peng Chunlu, deputy managers of Smart Industries Department, and Ji Guangying, manager of Human Resources Department, came to exchange. Sheng Chun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice president of USST, together with Zhao Laijun, dean of USSTBS, Guo Qiang, deputy director of the Party Committee (President's) Office, Fu Yingying, deputy dean of USST Science and Technology Development Research Institute, Feng Lei, deputy director of the USST Students Office, Zhao Jing, deputy dean of USSTBS, and Han Yin, academic leader of the discipline of Transportation Engineering, took part in the exchange meeting.
Sheng Chun, on behalf of USST, extended his warm welcome to SPTCC’s visit. He briefly introduced the university’s history and its remarkable achievements in scientific research, teaching activities, social services and student cultivation. He emphasized that the university always prioritizes the fundamental task of morality education, works closely with industries, and promotes industry-university-research cooperation. He hoped that USST could strengthen its cooperation with SPTCC, taking advantage of each other and leading to mutual development.

Zhao Laijun gave an overview of the USSTBS in terms of its history, faculty team, discipline layout, scientific research strength as well as student cultivation. He highlighted that the Business School has made fruitful progress in discipline construction, scientific research, talent cultivation, and internationalization. He expressed his expectation to have in-depth collaboration with SPTCC in the fields of scientific research and talent training. He added that this will open a new chapter of cooperation and the two sides will work hand in hand to create a brighter future.

Zhao Jing shared information about the Transportation Engineering discipline, including its research direction, research topics and achievements. He emphasized that Transportation Engineering addressed national major needs by conducting detailed research on urban transportation planning, design, control, and means of transportation. The discipline also carried out operational state perception, traffic behavior analysis, space-time co-optimization, real-time operation control, and intelligent diagnosis and evaluation. These endeavors have yielded many important outcomes with international impact.

It has gradually established the featured industrial development model. Qian Qing hoped that through cooperation with USST, both sides could take advantage of each other.
