The Delegation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Visited the Business School

On April 23, the delegation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University(KazNU) visited the Business School. Tukembayeva Kyyal, deputy dean of Al-Farabi Business School, Yermekbay Kanagat, chief specialist, Issakh Assem, specialist, and other 4 specialists visited the Business School. Zhang Zheng, deputy dean of USSTBS, and Xu Lin, deputy director of the USST International Affairs Office, welcomed the delegation. Other staff members including Huang Ying, manager of the General Administration Office of USST International Affairs Office, Liu Yuan, Section Chief for International Cooperation of USST International Affairs Office, Liu Weiwei, dean’s assistant for Internationalization (USSTBS), and members of the USSTBS Internationalization Office attended the exchange meeting. The meeting was presided over by Liu Weiwei. 

Xu Lin, on behalf of USST, extended a warm welcome to the delegation of KazNU. She introduced the university's history, disciplinary characteristics, schools, faculty team, international exchanges, etc. She mentioned that USST values international cooperation and exchanges. She expressed the expectation to foster a deeper partnership with KazNU in scientific research, student exchanges, and summer/winter programs. 

Zhang Zheng gave an overview of USSTBS in terms of its history, organizational structure, faculty team, and internationalization process. He highlighted that USSTBS has achieved AACSB re-accreditation for 5 years. Additionally, USSTBS has been collaborating with the University of North Dakota to offer an undergraduate program in business administration for many years. This program passed the Sino-foreign cooperative education assessment of the PRC Ministry of Education.The school has made remarkable achievements in cultivating talents with global competitiveness and in amplifying its international impact. 

Issakh Assem shared detailed information about KazNU, including its historical reputation, geographical environment, faculty team, and student numbers. She also introduced the Al-Farabi Business School’s vision, mission, disciplines, majors, course curriculum, and featured overseas internship programs. 

Tukembayeva Kyyal emphasized that Al-Farabi Business School is a practice-oriented business school, with faculty members who hold higher education diplomas and have rich business experience. The school offers a range of educational programs such as MBA, DBA, EMBA, and others, and it places great importance on international cooperation and exchanges. Tukembayeva Kyyal expected to explore various modes of cooperation with USST and USSTBS, including long-term and short-term student exchanges, faculty visits, etc. 

The visit of the KazNU delegation marks a significant step towards in-depth exchanges and cooperation between USSTBS and the higher education institutions from the countries alongside the “Belt and Road” Initiative. In the future, USSTBS will continue to carry out international exchanges, integrate into the “Belt and Road” Initiative framework, and leverage the synergy between USSTBS and partner universities.
