On April 25 and 26, the launching ceremony of the Union of Universities and High Schools of SCO Countries was held at the China-SCO Institute of Economy and Trade (hereinafter referred to as CSCOIET). During the ceremony, the Union of Universities and the Union of High Schools of SCO Countries were formed to create a platform for sharing educational resources and co-cultivating international talents within the cooperative framework. This initiative aims to explore a new cultivation mechanism enabling talent to move and study in different countries, train high-quality talent with an international mindset, and provide an SCO Model for educational cooperation under a multilateral framework. Representatives from over 80 domestic and international universities and high schools attended the ceremony, including Lomonosov Moscow State University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg State University of Economics, Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University, Saint-Petersburg State Agrarian University, South Ural State University, CITI University (Mongolia), Tajik National University, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), Zhengzhou University, Qingdao University, Shandong University of Technology, Hebei Normal University of Science & Technology, School No.168 (St. Petersburg), Luoyang No.10 Senior High School. Zhao Laijun, dean of USSTBS, Fang Zhiming, secretary-general of the School of Intelligent Emergency Management, and Liu Weiwei, dean’s assistant for Internationalization were invited to attend this event.

Zhao Laijun delivered a speech themed Prospects and Experiences of International Cooperation in Education. He introduced the history and internationalization achievements of USST and USSTBS. Zhao Laijun emphasized that USSTBS will continue to “expand and open up, improve quality and efficiency to explore and establish an international demonstration zone for education, and to promote the globalization of its business education. Furthermore, he explained the one body and two wings strategy to enable the international demonstration zone for education to enhance the quality of education in the future.

During the ceremony, Zhao Laijun, Fang Zhiming and Liu Weiwei had in-depth exchanges and discussions with Zheng Shi, president of CSCOIET, as well as other leaders and experts from CSCOIET. They also visited enterprises in the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area, such as the Geely Satellite Internet Project, Qingdao Eastsoft Communication Technology Co. Ltd., Transfar International Logistics Port, etc.
