On May 10th,the Hujiang Economics and Management Forum Series (105th Session) was held via Tencent Meeting. Associate Professor Cao Jing from the Department of Public Administration delivered an academic presentation titled Mechanisms and Pathways of Data Governance Empowering the Credibility of Third-party Education Evaluation.
Starting from the background of the digital transformation of education and the reform of education evaluation in the new era both domestically and internationally, the presentation analyzed the crucial role of data elements in education evaluation. It introduced the theoretical model of the credibility of third-party education evaluation and used it as a framework to outline the current issues in the credibility of third-party evaluation.
By elaborating on the characteristics of data governance such as integrality, decentralization, and service orientation, and coupling them with the construction of credibility in third-party evaluation of higher education, the presentation discussed the process mechanisms of data governance empowering the credibility of third-party evaluation from four aspects: data acquisition mechanism, data processing mechanism, information communication mechanism, and information disclosure mechanism.
Furthermore, it analyzed the data governance mechanisms that promote the improvement of the credibility of third-party evaluation, including the risks of ethical behavior in third-party assessment, the reverse dominance of assessment targets, excessive administrative intervention, and the misuse of evaluation results.
Finally, the presentation pointed out the main pathways of data governance empowering the credibility of third-party education evaluation.
In the end, Associate Professor Zhou Hailing from the Department of Public Administration provided comments on the lecture, and attendees engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on the content of the presentation.
