University of Calgary's Tenured Professor Tu Yiliu Delivered a Seminar at the Business School

On the morning of May 7, USSTBS invited Tu Yiliu, tenured professor of the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Calgary, Canada, to deliver a seminar themed Impact of Industry 4.0/5.0 upon Enterprise Management - Questions and Possible Research Directions. Zhao Laijun, dean of USSTBS, Zhang Zheng, vice dean, Liu Weiwei, dean's assistant for Internationalization, Huang Jing, deputy director of the Department of Accounting, members of the Internationalization Office, as well as faculty members and students from USSTBS attended the seminar. The seminar was presided over by Zhao Laijun.

Zhao Laijun expressed his warm welcome to Prof. Tu Yiliu and introduced his academic research and achievements.

Tu Yiliu discussed the widespread and rapid implementation of Industry 4.0/5.0, also known as the fourth/fifth industrial revolution worldwide. He introduced the connection and development of Industry 4.0/5.0 and addressed some issues related to changes in enterprise management. Additionally, he presented his research projects and explored potential research directions of Industry 4.0/5.0.

In the Q&A session, Prof. Tu engaged in a detailed discussion with students and faculty members about the logic mechanism and characteristics of ChatGPT's command recognition, as well as its development prospects.

Zhao Laijun, on behalf of USSTBS, expressed his gratitude to Prof. Tu Yiliu for his insightful sharing. He emphasized the positive and powerful impact of Prof. Tu’s research on practical life and production. Zhao Laijun also encouraged students to enrich their knowledge in related fields and to bravely explore the new arena. 

Following the seminar, the leadership team of USSTBS and Tu Yiliu discussed about the potential collaborations between USSTBS and the University of Calgary. They presented the existing inter-university cooperation programs, as well as future cooperation areas and directions, which will lay the groundwork for future collaboration.
