On June 6, the Hujiang Economics and Management Forum Series (113rd Session) was successfully held at the Lecture Hall on the fourth floor of Building A of the Business School. The event featured a scholarly presentation titled “Research on the optimization of cross border logistics network of China Railway Express” delivered by Wei Hairui, an associate professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering. More than 50 teachers and students participated in this lecture.
In the report, she introduced the opening and development of the China Europe Express, the important role played by the dry port (International Inland Port) in the opening of the China Europe Express, and then introduced the expansion of dry ports and the current situation, characteristics and existing problems of the opening and operation of the China Europe Express. On this basis, she proposed the optimization of the China Europe Express cross-border logistics network with the dry port platform as the core, elaborated in detail the two-stage logistics gravity design method and model of the China Europe Express cross-border hub and spoke logistics network. Then she further elaborated the case analysis part, taking 196 prefecture level hinterlands in 17 inland provinces in China as examples, and analyzed the suggestions and Enlightenment of the research conclusion on the development of the real cross-border logistics network.Finally, she gave a brief introduction to the factors of concern for further research on the cross-border logistics network of China Europe Express Trains and the issue of collaborative operation, which provided beneficial inspiration for postgraduates to carry out scientific research topics and research around practical problems.
