On the afternoon of May 19, the Professional Degree Education Center (PDEC) 3M Alumni Work Conference & Unveiling Ceremony of the Alumni Development Center was successfully held at the USST Fuxing Campus by the PDEC. The event was attended by Ma Jingbo, secretary of the Party Committee of USSTBS, Zhang Zheng, vice dean, staff and faculty members of the PDEC, as well as more than 20 alumni representatives. The event recalled the historical changes of USST, strengthened the bonds between alumni, showcased the latest developments of the PDEC, and collected suggestions for the development of the Business School and the Center. The event was hosted by Meng Chenli, director of the PDEC Comprehensive Office.

As spring gives way to summer, the landscape of the USST Fuxing Campus takes on a pleasant allure. At the beginning of the event, the alumni visited the Fuxing Campus History Museum and explored the historical buildings. With volunteers' explanations, they reviewed the history of USST, gaining a profound understanding of their alma mater's evolution and accomplishments over the past century.

Following the visit, Ma Jingbo delivered a speech in which he warmly welcomed the alumni returning to the university and expressed his gratitude to those who support the Business School's development. He mentioned that the Business School has always been committed to improving its education quality, and has cultivated numerous outstanding talents for society. The establishment of the Alumni Development Center aims to bolster alumni connections, build a bridge between graduates and the Business School, and jointly advance the School's long-term development.

Unveiling Ceremony: Establishment of the Alumni House
At the unveiling ceremony witnessed by all participants, Ma Jingbo, Zhang Zheng, together with Zong Jiawu, president of the MBA Alumni Association and partner of Shanghai BlueBay, Liu Xinli, president of the MPA Alumni Association and president of the Zhangjiang Human Resource Association, and Tian Peiqi, president of the MEM Alumni Association and lecturer at Shanghai Civil Aviation College, unveiled the plaque of the USSTBS Alumni Development Center. It marks the establishment of the USSTBS Alumni House, which created a new platform for alumni interaction and communication.

Zong Jiawu highlighted the MBA Alumni Association's accomplishments over the past years and expressed his expectations for the future. He emphasized the commitment to promoting the establishment of the MBA Alumni Association in other regions, participating in the university’s celebrations, and supporting the Business School and PDEC in talent cultivation, internship programs, as well as industry-academia-research cooperation.

Liu Xinli emphasized the pivotal role that the alma mater has played in his career development. He mentioned that the MPA Alumni Association will serve as an active platform, continuing to organize alumni back-to-campus activities, foster connections among alumni, and enhance the USST's societal impact.

Tian Peiqi recalled the good times he spent at the USST. He also mentioned the various activities organized by the MEM Alumni Association since its establishment in 2021, such as the Alumni Showcase. In the future, the Association plans to organize more alumni activities to strengthen the bond among graduates and maintain a close connection with the alma mater.

Exchange meeting: Advice and Suggestions for sustainable development
During the meeting, participants discussed How to effectively support alumni work. The meeting was hosted by Zhang Zheng. The alumni engaged in productive discussions about university-enterprise cooperation, industry-education integration, alumni back to campus, alumni activities, joint talent training, internships and employment, etc.

3M alumni representatives believed that alumni activities had broadened their social network, and would strengthen collaborations with the university to further provide more industry-academia-research opportunities for current students. They also suggest that alumni associations should be organized based on interests and more sub-associations should be established to encourage interactions among alumni. Representatives of outstanding alumni recalled the meaningful moments of their school years, expressing their gratitude for the cultivation of the alma mater. They hoped to support more alumni activities in the future. Representatives of current students shared information about their studies and hoped to learn from the experiences of outstanding alumni.
Ma Jingbo, on behalf of USSTBS, expressed his gratitude to the alumni for their valuable suggestions. He provided several practical ideas for the development of the alumni associations and emphasized the importance and the significant contributions of the 3M Alumni Associations over the past years. He also assured full support from the Business School for alumni activities and pledged to organize more featured events based on the suggestions received. The establishment of the Alumni Development Center marks a significant step for the PDEC, fostering a stronger connection between the Business School and its alumni. It encourages alumni to visit the School more frequently. Working towards the same goals, the School and alumni collaborate to move towards a new chapter of development.
