During November 11 to 19, Vice Dean Zhang Zheng led a delegation to visit the University of Vale do Taquari(UNIVATES) in Brazil and the University of Piura (UDEP) in Peru, to exchange views on the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the expansion of international cooperations. The delegation was accompanied by Zhou Yiwei, associate professor from the department of Information Management and Information Systems.

The Delegation firstly visited the UNIVATES. Evania Schneider, Rector of the UNIVATES, Viviane Bischoff, Director of the International Affairs Department, Gabriel Braido, Undergraduate Program Specialist of Business Administration, and Marina Radavelli, International Affairs Specialist, warmly welcomed the delegation. Since the signing of the MOU between USST and UNIVATES in 2019, the two sides have maintained close academic ties and exchanged many friendly visits. During this visit, the two sides had an in-depth meeting on the renewal of the MOU and reached a preliminary intention. In addition, the delegation also visited the campus and the Science and Technology Innovation Park, and explored the university's curriculum and teaching, innovation and entrepreneurship, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and other related aspects.

Visit to the University of Piura in Peru, to discuss international cooperation programs and short-term business study tours
And then the delegation visited the University of Piura. Fernando Barranzuela, Dean of the Business School of the University, Fabiola Falconí, Director of the Business Administration Program, Gustavo Carrasco, Director of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Program, and Guillermo Cangahuala, Associate Professor of Business Administration, warmly received the delegation. This was a return visit after a delegation led by Suzanne Viegas, Vice Chancellor of UDEP, visited USST in May 2024. During the meeting, Zhang Zheng introduced in detail the innovative initiatives of the Business School and the Professional Degree Education Centre(PDEC) in international exchanges and practices in recent years, including the design of internationalized courses, the management of short-term study visit and the organization of business visits, etc. UDEP, on the other hand, shared the characteristics and practices of its dual-degree programs, credit transfer system, curriculum development, etc., and learned about USST in terms of the admission of international students and the development of English-taught courses. Through the talks, a short-term business study tour was planned, laying a good foundation for the future cooperation.

Expand the international cooperation
The visit to Brazil and Peru is not only deepening of the existing partnership, but also a key step for the Business School to further expand its international influence and explore potential partners. Through this visit, the Business School has not only established a more solid foundation of cooperation with the two universities in South America, but also provided more opportunities for the future international collaborations.
