On the morning of November 28, Shanghai's first university firefighter skills invitational competition was held in the city's fire training base for college students in Fengxian District. Leaders in charge of safety work in each university and more than 600 representatives of faculty and students from the 67 universities of the city attended the event. Liang Yunhong, head of Shanghai Fire and Rescue, Gu Hongliang, deputy secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee of Education and Health and deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, also attended the event.
The competition is a relay race, including fire extinguishing, personal protective equipment wearing, smoke masks usage, knotting rope self-rescuing, stretcher rescuing and evacuation.Finally,USST team stood out among 12 teams from Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College, Shanghai Jiao tong University and other universities and won the champion of the First Shanghai Universities Firefighter Skills Invitational Competition.
The team comprised 10 students from USST, 5 of them from the Business School. They demonstrated excellent teamwork and firefighting expertise in the competition, which laid a solid foundation for the team’s excellent performance and also showed the innovation and efforts of our business school in fire safety education.
