Updated:2025-04-21

On April 19, the 2025 Shanghai University Business Elite Challenge International Trade Competition was held at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics(SUIBE). Zhou Min, deputy director of the Department of International Economics and Trade, and faculty members Tang Qiao, Yang Le, and Qian Weiwen led four teams to participate in the competition. After intense competition, USST students won 2 first prizes, 1 second prize, and 1 honorable award, while the university was awarded the Best Institutional Organization Award.

The competition was hosted by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission(SMEC), co-organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Sub-council, and undertaken by SUIBE. More than 50 teams from 15 universities in Shanghai, including Shanghai University and the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, participated in the competition.

The competition assessed the students' practical abilities in international trade through four areas: business plan, booth poster design and commodity display, English-language new product release, and simulated trade negotiation. Under the guidance of faculty mentors, USST students demonstrated exceptional professional competence, fluent English communication, refined business etiquette, and strong teamwork spirit.

Their performance highlighted the School's commitment to the AACSB educational philosophy and enhanced collaboration with other institutions and enterprises.

Since its inception in 2011, the National University Business Elite Challenge International Trade Competition has become a flagship platform in China for fostering innovation, industry-academia collaboration, and international exchange in trade education. Over 15 years, it has grown into a nationally recognized event with significant influence in cultivating applied and innovative talents.
