The school organized a two-day cultural experience and academic exchange event.

Activity 1: Classroom Learning and Lecture Exchanges

The delegation attended classes at our university. The students participated in the Leadership and Team Management course led by foreign professor Jennifer B. Tarlin. Through case studies and group interactions, Jennifer guided discussions on cross-cultural leadership and efficient team collaboration.

The delegation also had in-depth academic exchanges with the faculty and students of our School. Dean Mohd Rahimie Abd Karim delivered a lecture on Southeast Asian Finance, covering its core principles, operational approaches, opportunities, and challenges.

To deepen the delegation’s understanding of China's corporate landscape, a lecture titled Transformation and Value Creation for Financial Professionals was hosted by Xie Ying, General Manager of the Planning and Finance Department at Shanghai Film Group. Drawing from her experience in state-owned enterprises, Xie analyzed how financial professionals can transform from accounting-focused roles to strategic partners in the digital and intelligent era.

Following the lecture, the delegation visited the Shanghai Film Museum, which showcases the century-long development of Chinese cinema. Through exhibits and interactive displays, the group explored the historical evolution, behind-the-scenes stories, and cultural significance of China’s film industry.

Activity 2: Friendship-Building Activities and Study Tour Sharing

To foster friendship, the School organized icebreakers, talent shows, and group discussions. Students from both universities shared their campus lives and cultural traditions in a relaxed atmosphere.

Our school representatives Dong Honglin and Wu Yanan shared their study tour experiences at UMS, highlighting the university’s vibrant activities, picturesque campus, and personal academic growth.

After the session, Vice Dean Liu Weiwei and Accounting Department Director Yu Qianlong presented certificates to the delegation and our school's student volunteers, reaffirming commitments to future collaboration.

Activity 3: Cultural Immersion and Laboratory Tour

The delegation visited the Intelligent Emergency Management Laboratory, where researchers introduced advancements in urban safety, emergency response, and risk prediction. The delegation praised the lab’s cutting-edge platforms and research achievements, expressing hopes for future partnerships.

The delegation also toured Shanghai’s iconic Bund and Yu Garden, experiencing the city’s blend of historical architecture and modern development, as well as classical Jiangnan-style gardens. These visits deepened their appreciation for Chinese culture.

The series of exchange activities not only strengthened ties between the two universities but also broadened participants’ international perspectives, paving the way for deeper collaboration in education and cultural exchange.
