On the afternoon of June 4, a delegation led by Xie Zuocan, Deputy Mayor of Anting Town Government in Jiading District, visited the Business School. The delegation included Xu Xiaoqing, Researcher from the Social Work Department of Jiading District, Yang Guodong, Director of the Anting Social Work Office, Yuan Ya and Shi Yi, Deputy Directors of the Anting Economic Development Office, Zhang Yuanliang, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai International Automobile City Auto Industrial Zone, as well as representatives from local communities. The delegation was received by Zhao Laijun, Dean of the Business School, Yan Jin, Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Deans Fang Zhiming and Liu Weiwei, Zhu Shuicheng, Director of the Public Administration Department, Liu Yong, Deputy Director of the Artificial Intelligence Department, as well as Professor Zhao Xin and other representatives from the School.
Zhao Laijun extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced USST's history and the Business School's achievements in scientific research, teaching, social services, talent cultivation, as well as faculty development. He highlighted the School's progress in discipline development, internationalization, and industry collaboration, expressing hope to deepen cooperation with Anting Town.
Xie Zuocan acknowledged the School's strengths in research, education, and community engagement. He emphasized Anting's identity as a millennium-old cultural town, industrial hub, and automobile powerhouse, rooted in its historical legacy and automotive industry dominance. Xie proposed collaborative initiatives in technology transfer, student internships, community governance, and talent training to drive innovation and high-quality development in Anting.
Discussions focused on industry-academia-research collaboration, customized talent training programs, student employment opportunities, and grassroots governance.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured the Intelligent Emergency Management Laboratory, experiencing virtual reality platforms for emergency simulations and crowd evacuation experiments.
