On the afternoon of September 19, a delegation from the University of Newcastle, Australia, led by Vice-Chancellor Alek Voninski, visited USST. The delegation was received by Zhao Ning, Deputy Party Secretary of USST. Attendees included Chen Qi, Director of the International Affairs Office, Li Jiandong, Director of the Educational Development Office, Zhao Laijun, Dean of the Business School, Liu Weiwei, Vice Dean of the School, and Ge Yuhui, Executive Deputy Director of the EDP Center. The meeting was presided over by Chen Qi.
Zhao Ning extended a warm welcome to Alek Voninski and his delegation. He introduced the university's history, disciplines and international collaborations. He emphasized that the university had attached great importance to the cooperation with high-level universities in Australia, especially in the field of emergency management and other cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields.
Alek Voninski expressed gratitude for the hospitality of USST, and introduced the basic situation and characteristic disciplines of the University of Newcastle. He mentioned that there was cooperation between the two universities in areas such as emergency management, business innovation and sustainable development. The University of Newcastle looked forward to establishing a solid cooperative relationship to promote student and faculty exchanges, joint scientific research, so as to enhance both universities’ global academic influence.
At the meeting, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on talent training and educational cooperation, and reached a consensus, laying a good foundation for further cooperation.
