Recently, the list of the third batch of supply chain modeling engineering innovation bases was unveiled. A total of 7 colleges and universities passed the evaluation, including 1 research base and 6 practice bases. Our school was approved as “supply chain modeling engineering innovation practice base”.
In order to further promote the integration of industry and education, boost the research of new technology and new trend of supply chain as well as the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and finally achieve the goal of supply chain management personnel training, in April 2021, the Department of Industrial Engineering of the School of Business cooperated with Beijing Logis Co. Ltd, jointly applying for the “supply chain modeling engineering innovation base” project of the third batch initiated by LLamasoft and Changfeng Supply Chain together. After the base management office organized experts to examine and approve at all levels, the “supply chain modeling engineering innovation base” practice base project of our university was successfully approved.
In terms of academic services, the base will center on the key technologies and core processes in the supply chain strategy and operation. The School of Business, LLamasoft, Changfeng supply chain will jointly explore the strategies, principles, methods, algorithms, technologies and models of supply chain modeling and optimization.
In terms of teaching and practice services: (1) it provides research tools, cases and data support for industrial engineering graduate students and undergraduates to complete thesis, graduation project and comprehensive practice courses. (2) based on the partner’s enterprise resources, it provides 3-6 months of cross-enterprise practice service support for graduate and undergraduate students majored in industrial engineering. (3) for graduate students and excellent undergraduates, through selection, learning, project research, enterprise internship, and other procedures, it carries out the training of high-end supply chain modeling engineers, with no less than 10 engineers got trained each year and passing the certification assessment.
It is reported that during the term of the agreement, we will be granted permission to use five supply chain modeling and simulation software (supply chain Guru X) licenses. This school-enterprise cooperation base project actively responds to the call of “golden course” construction of the Ministry of education of the People’s Republic of China, provides resource support for the construction of “golden course” of virtual simulation of supply chain management and also lays a solid foundation for the application of provincial virtual simulation experiment teaching project in the next step.
