On the afternoon of April 9, Business School held the “Dean’s Forum and Professional Expo” at College of Basic Science, No.1100 Jungong Rd. Dean Zhao Laijun and vice-dean Zhang Zheng of Business School, director Fan Chongjun and deputy director Liu Yong of Department of Information Management and Information Systems, Xi Ning, deputy director of Department of System Science, Liu Weiwei, deputy director of Department of Transportation System Engineering, the staffs from Counselors Office and Administration Office, and more than 1,000 undergraduates of 2020 from different majors of USST participated the forum. The “Dean’s Forum and Professional Expo” has the main venue, a parallel session, and an online live broadcast. The forum was presided over by Vice-dean Zhang Zheng.

Dean Zhao Laijun first gave a general introduction of Business School from the historical origin, organizational structure, discipline and specialty, faculty and staff, and scientific prowess, which mainly focused on the characteristics of the school like internationalization, multi-interdisciplinarity, multi-practice platform, integration of production and education, and innovation and entrepreneurship. Dean Zhao proposed several suggestions based on his own academic and work experience and believed that management plays an irreplaceable role in enhancing the core competitiveness of enterprises and the overall national strength. He hoped that students will combine professional choice with national development and choose a major rationally. Business School will provide students with strong faculty, technology and financial support for their growth and development, and encourage students to become versatile and practical high-quality management talents with international vision and innovative spirit.

Professional leaders of Information Management and Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Transportation System Engineering, and Management Science respectively gave detailed introductions to the students on the history of the major, faculty and staff, professional characteristics, construction results, and employment prospects of Business School. Leaders of each major discussed and interacted in-depth with students on professional advantages, training characteristics, curriculum settings, academic planning, and employment channels.
The “Dean’s Forum and Professional Expo” fully exhibited the construction results of Business School as well as each undergraduate major, which effectively helped students of 2020 to fully understand the undergraduate majors of Business School. This will help the school to attract high-quality students and continuously expand the influence of its undergraduate education.
