Recently, led by director of the Department of International Economics & Trade professor Luo Fang, a delegation of teachers from Business School, University of Shanghai for Science & Technology (USST) visited the Shanghai Pudong Sub-branch of Zhejiang Tailong Commercial Bank CO., LTD. President of the sub-branch Mr. Li Hao, who is also an alumnus of the department for the year 2006, received the delegation.
Site Visit
President Li extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Then he introduced the bank in terms of history of corporation development, personnel structure, strategy and plan, and future development. Zhejiang Tailong Commercial Bank CO., LTD was founded in 1993 as a joint-stock city commercial bank with the mission of serve small and micro business, implement inclusive finance. As of today, it has grown up to be a large enterprise with some 10,000 employees, 13 branches and over 300 sub-branches. Its business has extended to other provinces including Zhejiang, Hubei, Fujian, Guangdong, Henan and Shaanxi by establishing 13 town-level branches.

Professor Luo appreciated president Li for the reception in his heavy schedule. She then updated on the progress of Business School and USST. Regarding the Department of International Economics & Trade, she talked about academic capacity building, staff composition and training program design for undergraduates and postgraduates. The two sides exchanged ideas about talent cultivation and career planning for undergraduates, and further confirmed mutual intent of cooperation in the areas of internship, constructing training-campus for practicum and employment of school graduates etc. Professor Luo expressed her hope for alumni to pay regular visits to the Business School, share their work experience and guide career planning for students. Doing so will strengthen the university-enterprise link and deepen bilateral cooperation.
This visit to Tailong Bank is an exploration by the department into areas of training model for talents, academic capacity building, school-enterprise joint training course, training base for practicum, and Industry-university-research platform. Party Secretary of the department, Mr. He Wen, deputy director Mr. Qin Bingtao, and youth teacher Mr. Yang Le were present for the event.
