In order to improve the students’ understanding of the development status, the business process and knowledge of finance lease, Dr. XU Yilan, an external tutor of the major of finance, held an expert lecture on the applications and trends of finance lease in the second meeting on the fourth floor of the business school, on the afternoon of November 7th. Graduate students at all academic levels of the business school attended the lecture.
In the lecture, Dr. XU Yilan first introduced the history of finance lease in China. In particular, China has experienced three stages: capital market, credit market and leasing market, and the leasing market can be divided into three processes: initial development (1981-2000), medium development (2001-2010) and recent development (2011 to now). Secondly, based on his personal experience and theories, Dr. Xu Yilan proposed three leasing models: direct lease, after-sales leaseback and operating lease, and emphasized that operating lease is the direction of leasing business development in the future.
Finally, from the perspective of actual combat, Dr. XU Yilan analyzed that the leasing business can help the lessee improve its financial situation, reasonably avoid taxes, relax the restrictions on the use of funds, and receive the relevant services provided by the lessor. With that said, Dr. XU Yilan talked about the risks in the leasing business and put forward the corresponding risk assessment points according to the different types of lessees.
In the subsequent discussions, the students actively discussed with Dr. XU Yilan for his personal opinions. After the exchange, Dr. DUAN Jiangjiao of the Department of Finance made a summary about the lecture.
