On December 10, 2021, the 2021 China Business School Development Forum and Education Ceremony jointly hosted by MBA China Network and Managers Magazine was successfully held online.
In the expectation of the industry, the 2021 China Business School and MBA Program Series List was announced in the awards ceremony, and a total of more than 200 business schools participated in the competition of various awards. In the end, the Business School of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology(BS-USST) won many honorary awards with its strong strength and distinctive characteristics.
Among them, the MBA program of BS-USST was listed as Best MBA Project TOP100; and won the honorary title of Best Business School of Industry and Education Practice in China, and Professor Zhao Laijun, dean of the BS-USST, won the China Business School Excellent Operation Award.
The MBA program of USST has a long history, dating back to the Downtown District Business School of Hujiang University in the 1930s. In 1981, the Business School cooperated with the MIT Sloan Business School and other universities to hold master's classes in English. In 1983, the Wall Street Journal published a special report, saying that this move set a precedent for MBA education in China.
In May 2018, the BS-USST passed the International Certification of AACSB (International Association of Elite Business Schools). This marks that the BS-USST becomes the 20th Business School in China Mainland, the sixth in Shanghai (the first five are China-Europe International Business School, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics) to pass the AACSB certification, and it is also the first university not directly under the Ministry of Education in China to pass the AACSB international certification. AACSB has the oldest qualification and the highest gold content among the three certified international business schools, which is an important symbol of excellent business schools. The AACSB certification shows that the BS-USST has become a world-class business school.
The MBA education of USST continues to innovate and keeps pace with the times. On the basis of completing the MBA training goals stipulated by the nation, it strives to create the four major program characteristics which involve systematic thinking, integration of industry and education, innovation quality and practical ability, and focusing on the national strategic emerging industries.
(1) Cultivate the systematic thinking ability. The BS-USST ranked third in China in the fourth round of discipline evaluation of the Ministry of Education and first in Shanghai; Management Science and Engineering ranked B+. Taking advantage of the strong systematic discipline strength of the college, the MBA of USST pays attention to cultivating students' systematic thinking and improving students' analytical thinking ability and leadership.
(2) integration of production and education. As an affiliated unit of the Special Committee of the Integration of Industry and Education of Shanghai MBA Education Index Committee, it innovates the MBA talent training mode and creates a leading MBA integration of industry and education training system in China.
(3) Cultivate innovation quality and practical ability. Through case study, theoretical analysis, group confrontation, providing enterprise mentors, enterprise practice, participating in the national innovation and entrepreneurship competition and other forms, we will comprehensively cultivate students' innovation quality and improve their business practice ability. In recent years, students have won many good achievements in various innovation and entrepreneurship competitions.
(4) Focus on national strategic emerging industries. USST has the only medical device school in China, the first ranked major in optics and artificial intelligence in Shanghai, and enjoys the reputation of Huangpu Military Academy of Manufacturing Industry. With the help of the school's superior disciplines, MBA of USST makes use of its advanced faculties, enrich alumni resources, connect with the national industrial development strategy, build MBA featured courses with distinctive industry characteristics, and enhance students' industry advantages.
