Updated:2022-03-26

When the life of stay on campus”  started, working on data in the dormitory or attending group meetings in the office has become the normal campus life under quasi-closed management.

The team of Professor ZHAO Laijun, Dean of Business School, was assisting Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control & Prevention every afternoon during the quasi-closed-loop management period. They coordinated and located the newly added cases the day before to help realize the digital transformation of text address information, which was used to judge the current situation and future development of the epidemic.

“The workload was heavy and everyone was basically busy every day until 12 o'clock in the evening.” In MIM Mengmeng's view, the team members were not tired but full of energy. On the one hand, we can also help prevent and control the epidemic online in the campus, which gave us a sense of accomplishment. On the other hand, our professional ability and academic level have been greatly improved by participating in the practice of fighting the epidemic.

Research on resilience evaluation of healthcare systems in 60 countries around the world in response to COVID-19, Research on resilience evaluation of countries along the 'Belt and Road', Influence of information dissemination on the trend of disease transmission... These academic papers that closely follow the needs of social development and involve cross-disciplinary are all written by the graduate students of Business School.

The prevention and control of the epidemic is a global proposition. Our teachers and students should not only be 'cooperators' of nucleic acid tests on time and 'bystanders' who pay attention to the development of the epidemic but should closely combine professional knowledge with the needs of social development. It was our honor to contribute our professional knowledge and skills to the prevention and control of the epidemic in Shanghai ZHAO Laijun said.
