The Seventh China-Korea Joint Symposium on Sustainable Transportation Systems (CKJSSTS-7) was held in Seoul, South Korea from 18 to 19 February. Zhao Jing, Vice Dean of Business School, led a delegation to attend the symposium. The delegation was also accompanied by Sun Wenzhe, Distinguished Professor of Department of Transportation System Engineering. As an important platform for academic exchanges between China and South Korea, CKJSSTS aims to deepen the cooperation and academic exchanges between the two countries in the field of sustainable transportation.

This Symposium focuses on cutting-edge topics such as spatial information-driven sustainable transport mobility, demand modelling for smart travel, modelling and implementing transport networks for a greener future, sustainable dynamics in regional rapid transit networks, the key role of electric mobility in transportation sustainability, the impact of emerging technologies on transportation sustainability, as well as resilient sustainable travel systems.

Zhao Jing was invited to give a keynote speech entitled “Two-dimensional Vehicular Trajectory Reconstruction, Modelling, and Simulation”. Sun Wenzhe gave a keynote speech entitled “Integrating Public Transport with Multiple Services: Delay Insurance, Activity Remedy, and Bus-to-Grid”. He also shared his research output with the participating experts.

On the afternoon of 19 February, at the invitation of Professor Hwasoo Yeo and Assistant Professor Tiantian Chen of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Zhao Jing and his delegation visited KAIST. Professor Hwasoo Yeo had visited our Business School in July and November 2024, and gave thematic academic lectures to our students and faculty around the latest development on driving behavior in transportation systems. This visit not only consolidated the cooperation between the School and KAIST, but also built a platform for in-depth international exchanges in the field of transportation, which will lay a foundation for the future cooperation.
