Updated:2025-04-18

On the afternoon of April 17, Liu Zhicheng, a senior career planning instructor, was invited to deliver an engaging and insightful career planning workshop titled My Vocational Personality–MBTI for students at the Business School.

At the beginning of the session, Mr. Liu provided a detailed introduction to the MBTI framework. He explained the meanings of each dimension in MBTI, such as Extraversion (E) vs. Introversion (I), Sensing (S) vs. Intuition (N), and analyzed how different combinations of these traits influence career preferences. This gave students a foundational understanding of how personality impacts career planning. Following this, students took the MBTI test under Mr. Liu’s guidance to identify their specific personality types.

Subsequently, Mr. Liu introduced an island tour simulation activity and Holland’s Theory of Career Choice. Through the simulation, students explored their behavioral tendencies in different scenarios and reflected on their vocational interests. He further elaborated on the six personality types in Holland’s theory, using case studies to help students grasp the characteristics and corresponding career paths for each type. After completing the assessments and analyses, participants gained clarity on their preferred career fields, with some leaning toward artistic roles and others suited to social-oriented professions.

This event deepened participants’ self-awareness of their vocational personalities and offered fresh perspectives for contemplating their future career development.
