Updated:2025-04-22

On the afternoon of April 21, Tian Fa, Director of the Department of Fiscal and Taxation and Head of the Taxation Master’s Program at the Business School, along with faculty representatives Ji Li and Song Shanshan, led a group of Taxation Master’s students to the Yangpu District Taxation Bureau of the Shanghai Municipal Taxation Bureau for an immersive learning experience. Sun Jiaying, a tax official from the office of the Yangpu District Tax Bureau, received the faculty and students.

The staff guided the group through the first-floor self-service tax hall, where students learned about contactless tax processing procedures and the online features of the electronic tax bureau, gaining hands-on experience with Smart Taxation innovations.  Next, the group visited the 12366 Tax Service Hotline office, observing staff answering taxpayer inquiries and learning about service standards and intelligent support systems.

Moving to the second-floor tax service hall, students explored the functions of various service counters and experienced the Smart Cloud Tax interactive service, watching the AI assistant Yueyue handle remote tax transactions in real time.

Following the tour, outstanding young representatives from the bureau held a roundtable discussion with the students. They shared their professional journeys at the bureau, detailing daily operations, challenges in tax administration, and the evolving role of technology in public service.

The Smart Taxation · Youth Partnership immersive event strengthened students’ understanding of tax workflows and digital transformation. It also clarified their mission as future tax professionals to uphold integrity and innovation in public finance.
