On April 29, the Business School organized an information session on Artificial Intelligence(AI) Program, in order to help freshmen gain a deeper understanding of AI, clarify career pathways, and build connections with industry experts and senior students. The event featured a detailed overview of the undergraduate program, in-depth industry case studies by a Huawei expert, and personalized Q&A sessions. The event was hosted by Liu Yong, the head of AI program.
At the beginning of the event, Liu Yong introduced the historical evolution of AI, tracing its journey from theoretical concepts to real-world applications, emphasizing its transformative role in driving societal progress.
The session also invited Xu Shuai, an AI expert from Huawei, to share industry insights. Xu analyzed strategic developments, core technological innovations, and practical applications of AI, allowing students to appreciate the technology’s allure and vast potential while sparking their aspirations for future careers.

During the Q&A segment, Huawei representatives provided one-on-one consultations. Freshmen inquired about research opportunities, internships, and collaborative projects between Huawei and the university. The experts highlighted existing partnerships and encouraged proactive participation.
This information session equipped freshmen with a holistic understanding of the AI program, helping them define academic and career goals. The Business School will strengthen AI program development, deepen industry-academia collaboration, and cultivate high-quality AI professionals tailored to industry needs.
