Professor Fan Chongjun from Business School Invited to Lecture on Digital Economy and AI for Mauritanian Government Officials

On October 20, the Mauritania Workshop on Learning China's Digital Economy Development Experience was held in Shanghai. Professor Fan Chongjun, Dean of the E-Commerce Development Research Institute and Director of the Department of Artificial Intelligence was invited to deliver two keynote reports: Analysis of China's Digital Economy Development and Large-Scale Models and General Artificial Intelligence. The workshop, organized by China's Ministry of Commerce and hosted by the Shanghai Base for International Business Officials Training (Shanghai Business School), aimed to deepen Mauritania's understanding of China's policy frameworks, technological advancements, and practical experiences in digital economy development.

In his first report, Analysis of China's Digital Economy Development, Professor Fan tailored his analysis to Mauritania's national conditions and developmental needs. He examined the current status and potential opportunities of Mauritania's digital economy, systematically explained the core principles of digital industrialization and industrial digitalization, and emphasized their critical role in upgrading traditional industries and energizing economic growth.

During the second lecture, Large-Scale Models and General Artificial Intelligence, Professor Fan highlighted cutting-edge technologies, including China's advancements in natural language processing, multimodal models, smart logistics, AI-powered e-commerce, digital avatars, the metaverse, and low-altitude economy. He provided actionable recommendations for Mauritania to leverage general AI technologies to enhance industrial transformation and public services.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Fan on topics such as digital-intelligent transformation strategies and the localization of Chinese experiences. Attendees praised the lectures for the rich content and practical insights, expressing hopes for future exchanges and collaborative learning opportunities.
