A Visit from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand

On the afternoon of October 21, a delegation from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, visited USSTBS. The delegation included Monique Van Veen (Deputy Director of the International Office), Hu Fangjie (Head of the Shanghai Program Coordination Office), and Cao Yue (Coordinator). They were welcomed by Si Chengyong (Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office), Liu Yuan (Director of the International Exchange Division), Liu Weiwei (Vice Dean of the Business School), Meng Chenli (Director of the Professional Degree Education Center), Xie Wei (Director of the Internationalization Office), and Wang Ning (Marketing Manager of the Professional Degree Education Center). The meeting was presided over by Liu Weiwei.

Si Chengyong delivered an opening speech, highlighting the university's achievements in Sino-foreign cooperative education and international exchanges, underscoring its open, inclusive, and collaborative global vision. Monique Van Veen expressed gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the University of Canterbury's strengths, faculty expertise, and history of international partnerships. She emphasized the desire to deepen collaboration with USST in broader fields.

Both parties discussed joint initiatives such as professional master's exchange programs, student training, and faculty academic exchanges. They agreed to refine implementation plans to foster mutually beneficial outcomes.

This visit reinforced the partnership between the two institutions. Both sides pledged to uphold the spirit of openness and collaboration, expand cooperation areas, and cultivate globally competitive talent with innovative capabilities.
