Career Planning Series Event: Study Abroad Planning

On the afternoon of October 16, a specialized lecture focusing on study abroad planning was held at the South Campus of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST). The event, organized by the Business School, invited Xiang Shuixia, Chief Consultant of New Oriental's U.S. Graduate and Doctoral Programs Division, to analyze overseas application strategies and guide students in career planning.

Xiang Shuixia compared trends in studying abroad versus domestic postgraduate pathways, emphasizing key aspects of master's and doctoral applications. She highlighted the need for a balanced approach combining academic credentials (hard skills) and extracurricular strengths (soft skills), advising students to plan early to secure competitive advantages. 

During the interactive session, Xiang addressed student concerns, including visa procedures and post-admission support services. 

The lecture clarified critical steps in preparing for overseas education, enabling students to better align their aspirations with practical pathways. By offering actionable insights, the event empowered attendees to tailor their choices based on personal circumstances and goals.
