Faculty Member from the Department of Artificial Intelligence Invited to Attend Regional Educators Conference in Singapore

From November 18 to 19, Liu Yong, Deputy Director of the Department of Artificial Intelligence, was invited to participate in the Regional Educators Conference (REC) hosted by the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). Under the theme “Building Resilience and Confidence in the Digital Age: From Education to Empowerment,” the conference brought together experts and scholars from universities and educational institutions across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss educational innovation and future trends in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

Currently, AI technology is profoundly reshaping global higher education. The conference emphasized AI's applications in teaching and research, leveraging technological empowerment to enhance the resilience and innovative vitality of education systems.

During the event, Liu Yong presented the School's exploration and practices in AI discipline development. The Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Business School aligns closely with contemporary advancements, establishing a developmental pathway centered on “AI algorithms” as the technical foundation and “AI + systemic management” as its distinctive feature. This approach aims to cultivate interdisciplinary talents proficient in both technology and management.

Liu Yong also shared specific initiatives in “AI-empowered talent development,” including curriculum restructuring, industry-academia collaboration, and innovations in AI-assisted teaching models. These efforts garnered high recognition from attending experts.

This participation showcased the School's achievements in AI education and provided valuable experience for expanding international perspectives and deepening global collaborations in education. Moving forward, the Business School will proactively embrace intelligent transformation to further enhance the quality and global influence of its AI talent development programs.
