Delegation from the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area Visited USST

On November 27, a delegation from the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (SCODA) Administration Committee visited University of Shanghai for Science and Technology(USST). The delegation included: Hou Chaoxu, Director of the Jiaozhou Science and Technology Innovation Development Service Center; Gan Lu, Deputy Director of the Industrial Development Division II of the SCODA Administration Committee; Xu Gang, Assistant Director of the Qingdao DaGuHe Tourist & Holiday Resort; Song Qianqian, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at Qingdao Preschool Education College; Zhang Tinghe, President and Co-founder of the Long’ai Group; and Jia Ziqiu, Chairman and General Manager of Qingdao Shengli Group. Representatives from USST included Li Sujiao, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office and PhD Supervisor at the School of Health Science and Engineering; Yan Jin, Deputy Party Secretary of the Business School; Liu Weiwei, Vice Dean of the School; faculty and students from the School of Environment and Architecture and the Internationalization Office. The meeting was presided over by Liu Weiwei. 

Liu Weiwei extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the School’s strengths in disciplines, research, and teaching. He reviewed the history of collaboration between the two parties and highlighted achievements under the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Agreement between SCODA and USST.

Yan Jin emphasized student development, expressing hopes that cooperation with SCODA would enhance students’ practical skills, innovative thinking, and teamwork capabilities. 

Hou Chaoxu expressed his gratitude to USST and proposed collaboration directions such as medical care and health preservation, ecological and environmental protection research, and technology innovation. Gan Lu suggested expanding bilateral cooperation into multilateral partnerships. Song Qianqian introduced Qingdao Preschool Education College and proposed faculty exchanges and joint student training programs with USST.

Corporate representatives shared their expertise and proposals. Jia Ziqiu presented the group’s Health + Technology projects, while Deputy General Manager Xu Qichao discussed aging-friendly housing renovations and smart home solutions.

Li Sujiao showcased the School of Health Science and Engineering’s research breakthroughs in biomedical engineering and technology commercialization. 

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Institute of Intelligent Rehabilitation Engineering of USST, followed by separate meetings with the School of Environment and Architecture and the International Affairs Office. Concluding the visit, they toured the USST National Science Park accompanied by Liu Weiwei.

  

  

This exchange marks a promising start for collaboration in international student training, industry-education integration, and technology transfer. Both parties aim to foster mutual success and inject new vitality into educational and technological development.
